  • 8:00am - 5:00pm (Office-Based, with progression to hybrid/field)

Adaptable Recruitment are delighted to be supporting one of the UK's leading suppliers in their search for an Internal Business Development Executive to join their growing team.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to support a high-performing sales and business development team, playing a key role in driving new business activity. You'll be responsible for engaging with prospective customers through outbound calls, following up on leads and connecting with website enquiries, helping to build strong early-stage relationships.

Alongside this, you'll support the progression of opportunities by maintaining accurate CRM records and ensuring all prospects are effectively managed and smoothly handed over to the wider team - giving you real exposure to the full sales process and clear scope to develop within a growing business.

Key Responsibilities

  • High-volume outbound calling to cold, warm, and dormant leads to generate and qualify opportunities
  • Build rapport quickly and confidently with prospective customers
  • Handle inbound enquiries and convert interest into qualified leads
  • Accurately update CRM with call activity, notes, and pipeline progress
  • Support quotes, proposals, and follow-ups to maintain momentum
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth handover of qualified opportunities
  • Track outreach activity and support campaign performance
  • Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities
  • Maintain strong product knowledge to support effective conversations

About You

  • Confident and professional telephone manner
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Customer-focused with excellent relationship-building ability
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive, proactive, and a strong team player
  • Comfortable working independently when required
  • 1-2 years' experience in sales, telemarketing, lead generation, or B2B customer service
  • Experience using CRM systems (e.g. HubSpot, Salesforce) desirable
  • Experience within construction, plant hire, industrial, wholesale, utilities, or similar sectors is advantageous
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
