I am excluisvely supporting a well-established manufacturing business based in Lancashire looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join a close-knit HR team and play a central role in supporting the business through a period of continued growth.

If you're a hands-on HR generalist with a strong grasp of employment law, a commercial mindset and a genuine passion for doing right by people, this could be the role for you.

About the business

A well-respected manufacturer operating across Lancashire with ambitious plans, they move quickly and expect their HR function to move with them. The HR team is small by design and close to the business, and this role sits at the heart of it.

The role

You'll be a trusted first point of contact for line managers and employees covering the full employee lifecycle.

Employee relations (core focus)

  • Act as the first port of call for managers on all ER matters across absence management, disciplinary, grievance and performance
  • Guide managers through absence trigger point processes - advising on what's included, what action is required and when
  • Manage long-term absence cases end-to-end, including capability procedures where necessary and coordination of occupational health referrals
  • Use occupational health reports to explore reasonable adjustments, balancing the needs of the individual with the needs of the business
  • Manage disciplinary and grievance cases through to resolution, applying employment law with confidence and commercial judgement
  • Coach and develop managers so they grow in confidence and handle people matters more independently over time

Recruitment & onboarding

  • Support end-to-end recruitment activity - screening CVs, coordinating interviews and keeping hiring moving at pace
  • Manage the new starter journey from offer through to day one induction, ensuring every hire feels supported and set up to succeed

People data & insight

  • Track and analyse key HR metrics - absence, turnover, headcount and translate them into meaningful insight to support the people strategy
  • Use data to identify trends, support business improvement programmes and contribute to the wider people strategy

General HR operations

  • Be the go-to for policy guidance, contractual changes, right-to-work compliance and everyday HR queries
  • Contribute to HR projects including engagement initiatives and process improvements
  • Stay current on employment law developments
  • Maintain accurate case files and HR system records, documenting outcomes and actions throughout

What they are looking for

  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Proven ER experience with the ability to apply employment law practically and commercially
  • A people-first, ethical approach combined with the commercial awareness to understand what the business needs
  • Comfortable working at pace, being self-sufficient, and making sound judgements in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills - you'll be working closely with operational managers at site level
  • Experience in manufacturing, logistics or a similar operational environment is desirable
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel (Lancashire)
