The role

Purchase Ledger Management

  • Oversee the end-to-end purchase ledger process, including invoice processing, coding, approvals, and payment runs.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of supplier statements and resolution of queries.
  • Maintain financial controls and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Supervise and support the Purchase Ledger team, ensuring high performance and development.
  • Post daily bank and cash transactions and assist with month-end and year-end reporting.

Procurement Management

  • Lead procurement activities for medical consumables, equipment, and services within budgetary constraints.
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure value for money.
  • Forecast demand and manage stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Collaborate with Goods Inward to ensure timely delivery and booking of goods.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Produce monthly financial and procurement reports (e.g., GRNI, stock levels, supplier performance).
  • Ensure audit trails and data accuracy across purchasing and ledger systems.
  • Monitor KPIs related to stock holding, procurement efficiency, and cost savings.

About you

Essential

  • Proven experience in purchase ledger and procurement roles, taking ownership of end-to-end processes for procurement and AP.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems (e.g., SAGE, Quadient) and procurement platforms.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage teams and work collaboratively across departments.

Desirable

  • Experience with inventory and stock control systems
  • Familiarity with healthcare dispensing and supply chain businesses.
