At Adaptable Recruitment, we are seeking a strategic and adaptable Procurement Manager to lead the procurement function. You will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies, managing supplier performance, and driving value across the supply chain while supporting the organisation's operational goals.
Package: up to £60,000 depending on experience
Holidays: 25 days + bank
Location: St Helens - Fully Office based

Main Responsibilities to include:
- Develop and lead the company's procurement function from scratch
- Evaluate current supplier contracts and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Source and manage supplier relationships across all procurement categories
- Create and manage purchasing policies, procedures, and compliance controls
- Negotiate supplier contracts, pricing, SLAs, and payment terms
- Monitor and manage budgets and spend data to support cost control
- Review and manage stock levels of uniforms, equipment, and supplies
- Support fleet and fuel management procurement strategies
- Collaborate with finance to ensure procurement aligns with budgets
- Lead procurement-related risk management and supplier performance review
- Identify sustainability and ethical sourcing opportunities
The Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience in a procurement or purchasing role (ideally standalone or with wide category coverage)
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Experience with categories such as fuel, uniforms, telecoms, utilities, or similar
- Excellent analytical, budgeting, and reporting capabilities
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working autonomously and taking full ownership
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Experience within security, facilities management, or similar sectors (desirable but not essential)
